Pathway to Apprenticeship:
Heavy Equipment Technician Fort McMurray

Get your ticket to a dream career with Women Building Futures’, fully-paid, apprenticeship-to-journeyman program!

This program provides students with the practical and academic training required to become a Heavy Equipment Technician with the ultimate goal of achieving their journeyman certificate. This industry driven, education partnership provides high quality training in Fort McMurray through annual rotating work placements with our employer sponsors: Finning Canada, and SMS Equipment.

Successful Fort McMurray program applicants will be expected to live and work in Fort McMurray for all 4 years of their apprenticeship. There will not be an opportunity to attend training in Fort McMurray and live or work in another city such as Edmonton during apprenticeship. Applicants who are interested in living and working in Edmonton during their apprenticeships are encouraged to apply to the 2019 Edmonton Pathway to Apprenticeship: Heavy Equipment Technician program.
